My Holiday Program

23 Nov 2009 In: New Zealand

time to write something about my holiday program!

on friday, the 13th we had a beach BBQ with 2 other schools. the weather was not really good. it was very windy and down on the actual beach it was a lot warmer than at the place, where we had the BBQ. unfortunately noone wanted to go swimming with me. afterwards we still had quite a lot of time, so my host sister, one of my friends and i went to the local swimming-pool and to the movies afterwards. all in all it was a quite relaxed day.

on Tuesday, the 17th, 3 teachers took us out to clevedon on their cars. we met students from 2 other schools there and got seperated into two groups. our group did the flying fox and the rope swing first. the flying fox is similar to those slopes in the ‘climbing garden’ in paderborn and the rope swing is a big swing. both of these activities were quite fun. after that we went to the horse riding, which was a little bit boring for me, because we only did it very slow. we had lunch at the ranch and then we did the water confidence course. only very few people took part in it. there were many different acticities, where you had to get from one side to the other over the water. i took ages at my first station because i was so exhausted and the sun was burning on my back (of course i chose the most difficult one as the first:-D). my arms got very sore afterwards.

today, 23rd, we went to rainbow’s end, which is an amusement park. it is quite small and there are not so many scary rides. the roller-coaster with the loops was the only thing that looked at least a little bit scary, but actually it was not.

I will write a single article for the bay of islands trip!

Weekend

Hello!

this weekend i did lots of things!!

on friday i was in the movies with 2 of my friends: Celina and Rino. we watched the movie ‘couples retreat’, which was all right. not fantastic but not bad either.

on saturday i went to Botany, which is a shopping center. there i met 3 of my fiends: Celina, Rino and Taiba. we went a little bit shopping, then we went to Taiba’s house very shortly and came back to Botany to watch a movie. we had to seperate because they strictly control the IDs here. so Taiba and Celina watched saw and rino and i watched Julie &amp: Julia. the movie was ok, more for older women :-D When i came back home, my host family had a barbecue. the grandparents were there and also friends of my host sisters. Laura and her friend swam in the pool for the first time after winter. looked pretty cold =D i had a long conversation with my dad from germany on the phone. he calls me every weekend :-P

on sunday i went to the ‘armageddon’ show on the asb-showgrounds, which was like a games and movie show. some film stars answered questions and gave autographs for example: Joe Flanigan and Jason Momoa. but the most important person was Bronson Pelletier. he plays Jared in the new moon movie. he was just adorable!! he answered questions on the big stage. then one girl asked whether she could get a hug and he came down from the stage and hugged her. he hugged many people who asked for it but he did not come to us (my turkish host sister and me). but afterwards he gave autographs, so at least we talked to him and got his autograph!

on monday it was labour day, which is a public holiday here in new zealand. in the morning i finally did my homework and vacuumed my room. my host mother gave me and my host sister a ride to the bus stop because we were really late. we caught the bus to the city center, called britomart. there we met 3 girls who were with me on the south island trip. it was so nice to meet them again. we had lunch together and talked a lot!! the weather was crap so we just went shopping a little bit.

here are so many souvenir-shops so you can buy heaps of souvenirs. i would like to keep them all for me :-D!! that should not happen, so i have to buy everything twice :-D
